Hiring: Cybersecurity Project Manager (Technology Risk & Compliance)

Location: hybrid/Bolingbrook, IL

Role: Project Manager – Cybersecurity & Technology Risk

We’re seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead and deliver enterprise-level technology risk, security, and compliance initiatives for a large, well-established retail organization.

This role is ideal for a PM who has successfully managed risk assessments, control remediation, IAM governance, vulnerability remediation, and audit-driven initiatives in a structured PMO environment.

This is not a hands-on cybersecurity role. It is a delivery, governance, and coordination role focused on ensuring security and risk projects are executed properly and are audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity and technology risk initiatives
• Own the full project lifecycle: kickoff, planning, execution, governance, and closeout
• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, schedules, and risk logs
• Facilitate project meetings, design walkthroughs, and risk & control reviews
• Provide weekly and bi-weekly project status updates highlighting risks, control gaps, and remediation progress
• Partner with Portfolio Managers on resource and capacity forecasting
• Ensure compliance with PMO standards, documentation requirements, gate reviews, and change control
• Coordinate with IT Risk Management (ITRM), Audit, Compliance, and Architecture teams
• Track and maintain governance artifacts, remediation evidence, and validation documentation
• Support rollout planning, implementation coordination, and post-implementation lessons learned

Must-Have Qualifications

• Experience managing cybersecurity, technology risk, audit, or compliance projects
• Strong understanding of:
• Risk assessments
• Control remediation
• Vulnerability management
• IAM governance
• Regulatory / audit-driven initiatives
• Proven project management experience across the full lifecycle
• Experience working within a PMO-governed enterprise environment
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to translate technical risk into business impact

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Planview PPM
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO)
• Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments
• PMP or similar certification
