Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support Regional Network Deployment & Scaling (RNDS) for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) . This role focuses on deploying, scaling, and maintaining large-scale data center and backbone network infrastructure across global OCI regions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with data center networking , automation , and cloud-scale network operations .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 follow-the-sun support for OCI Regional Network Deployment & Scaling.
• Deploy greenfield network infrastructure and enable connectivity for new OCI regions and child sites.
• Support brownfield scaling , including:
• CFAB rack adds
• Compute expansions
• Server rack adds and decommissions
• Build and manage data center fabrics , edge , backbone , and metro fiber networks .
• Execute region builds , DRCC/Alloy expansions , multi-cloud integrations , and Butterfly turn-ups .
• Operate in a CI/CD pipeline environment using GitHub and OCI internal tools.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python preferred) to reduce manual deployment efforts.
• Work with routing and networking protocols including:
• BGP, OSPF, VXLAN
• TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6
• DNS, DHCP
• IPSEC, VPN, SSL
• Configure and troubleshoot Arista, Cisco , and other enterprise network hardware.
• Manage and execute Jira tickets related to network infrastructure and RNS projects.
• Provide weekend and on-call support as required.

Deliverables & Performance Expectations

• Complete deployments as per NRB project schedules .
• Deliver one Swimlane artifact per week .
• Complete:
• 20 rack decommission tickets per week
• 300 server add tickets per week
• Commit validated automation scripts to repositories.
• Create and maintain runbooks and technical documentation .
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with OCI internal teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in data center and cloud network deployments
• Hands-on expertise with BGP, OSPF, VXLAN
• Experience with Arista and Cisco networking devices
• Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 , VPN, IPSEC, and SSL
• Experience with CI/CD tools and GitHub
• Proficiency in Python scripting / network automation
• Experience working in 24x7 production environments
• Strong ticketing and workflow experience using Jira

Nice to Have

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience
• Large-scale cloud or hyperscaler network experience
• Multi-cloud integration exposure
