Job Description

Founded in 2003, we specialize in the design and installation of pavers, permeable paver systems, pedestal paver systems and retaining walls. Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

The principal duties are to perform all required sales and estimating functions of Gulf Coast Pavers in a timely and accurate manner. In order to perform these principal duties, the following must be properly fulfilled:

  • Receive and organize paver and retaining wall bid requests from customers and other leads. Manage, maintain and update the bidding schedule
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, proposals and other related documents to prepare time, cost and labor estimates.
  • Develop and nurture customer relationships to effectively negotiate, follow up, and close sales.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service in all job duties
  • Work with vendors to source and negotiate pricing on materials and freight to build estimate.
  • Manage and assist with the preparation of RFI’s
  • Complete paperwork and provide all job data accurately and timely
  • Performs quantity take-offs to support project documents.
  • Create and/or maintain a unit pricing database for material and labor costing purposes.
  • Assemble pavers and retaining wall estimates and proposals.
  • Communicate with general contractors, architects, and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications.
  • Assists with final assembly of estimate for presentation to General Contractor/Owner.
  • During bidding process, collect and organize all bid information for future reference.
  • Generate weekly and monthly sales and estimating activity reports.
  • Manage Air Table database
  • Aid field operations with change order pricing
  • Remain current with latest estimating technology and techniques
  • Actively participate in the internal estimate review process
  • Participate in strategy sessions to identify areas for increased profitability and efficiency

General Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in sales and estimating required with experience in the Hardscape, Landscape or Flooring Industry preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of estimating techniques, project management, and cost estimation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.); experience with project management and CRM systems a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the paver or retaining wall industry is an asset.
  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish or other languages) are a plus but not required.
