Real Estate Attorney

Location: Warren, Michigan (100% in-office)

Travel: Less than 25%

Reports To: President

Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to support our Vice President of Legal as well as our portfolio and project management teams across a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. This position will touch all aspects of real estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and review contracts for the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real estate throughout North America.
• Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts and other real estate related documents.
• Perform due diligence, including title, survey and zoning; work with portfolio team on closing real estate transactions.
• Conduct legal and other research of issues as they arise.
• Manage outside counsel.
• Identify and mitigate risk.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 2-5 years of meaningful experience in real estate transactions and leases. Ability to draft all types of real estate documents as well as perform title and survey review.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of projects to completion, and act with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to provide practical, solution-oriented advice that aligns with the company’s broader business strategy and objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Other desired, but not required, experience: land use and zoning, eminent domain / condemnation, construction, regulatory, environmental, financing, and commercial litigation.
• Must be available to work full-time in-office at our Warren, Michigan headquarters
