Job Description

Position Title :  Staff Pharmacist, part-time

Reports To : Senior Director of Dispensing Services

FLSA Status : Exempt

Date : October 15, 2025

Position Summary :  

The Staff Pharmacist works closely with other pharmacists, technicians, and students in the Dispensary, and other healthcare professionals within the clinic to perform functions to support the provision of safe and effective medication therapy.

Major Responsibilities :

• Screen prescription orders for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare, process, and dispense patient medications using EHR and dispensary software
• Provide patient counseling and device education 
• Work directly with patients to obtain medication histories and reconcile medications
• Triage and prioritize refill requests
• Reconcile medication for pick-up
• Maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices
• Use technology to help maintain accurate patient records
• Manage Institutional Patient Assistance Program (IPAP) partnerships
• Supervise and train technicians, students, and interns

Hours : 24 hours per week

Qualifications :

• RPh or PharmD from an accredited program
• Valid Pennsylvania pharmacist license
• Bilingual in Spanish (highly preferred)
• Previous experience in pharmacy practice settings, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices
• Working knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy information systems including Lexicomp and Up-to-Date
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently and effectively
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
